Fatal Lapeer County Crash Under Investigation by MSP (wearemidmichigan.com) — Lapeer County residents are mourning after an 18-year-old Columbiaville man died following a single-vehicle crash early Saturday at Bowers and Farnsworth roads in Mayfield Township. Michigan State Police say his car left the road and hit a tree; investigators are still piecing together what happened as family and community members await more answers.

Lapeer County's North Branch awarded redevelopment funds for downtown project (sanilacbroadcasting.com) — Lapeer County’s Village of North Branch is getting nearly $1 million in state support to turn a long-blighted former hardware store into eight apartments and two new commercial spaces downtown. Local leaders say the Orr Block Building overhaul will add jobs, housing, and fresh storefronts, aligning with the village’s master plan and encouraging further investment in the Lapeer County area.
4. Michigan Is Auctioning Off More Than 100 Properties This Summer (wcrz.com) — If you’ve dreamed of owning land, mark August 4 when surplus state property in Lapeer County goes up for online auction through the Michigan DNR. More than 100 parcels statewide, including wooded and waterfront lots, will be sold on staggered dates, giving local bidders a chance at relatively affordable recreational or getaway sites.
