• Data center moratorium puts Lapeer in step with other mid-Michigan cities (mlive.com) — Lapeer officials have approved a 12‑month pause on new data centers so they can write zoning rules that protect residents from higher utility costs and infrastructure burdens. During the moratorium, city staff and the Planning Commission will study regulations, watch for state guidance, and decide where and how data centers might fit into the community.
   

• David L. LaLone, 75 (lakeorionreview.com) — Lapeer is gently touched by this obituary, as David LaLone’s brother John and his wife Sally live here while the family mourns his passing. David, a Flint resident and Lake Orion graduate, was a heavy equipment operator, Civil War history buff, and motorsports enthusiast remembered for his creativity, love of music, and devotion to family.
