• 18-year-old dies from injuries in Lapeer County crash (abc12.com) — An 18-year-old Columbiaville man died after crashing into a tree early Saturday in Mayfield Township, Lapeer County. Michigan State Police say his car left the road near Bowers and Farnsworth roads, and despite firefighters’ rescue efforts and hospital treatment, he was pronounced dead. Troopers are still investigating what caused the crash. 
• New superintendent chosen for Lapeer County school district (mlive.com) — Almont Community Schools in Lapeer County has selected Kyle Wood, currently assistant superintendent at Croswell-Lexington, as its next superintendent pending contract talks. He was chosen from a field that included Lapeer High School Principal Jason Larsen and other regional educators. Wood brings classroom, principal, and district-level experience plus advanced training from Central Michigan and UM-Flint.
