Lowest premium gas price in Macomb County hits $4.79 for week ending Aug. 15 (warrensun.com) — Premium gas in Macomb County bottomed out at $4.79 per gallon for the week ending Aug. 15, with an average of $5.48 across local stations. The piece compares those prices to statewide Michigan averages and explains how refinery outages and global oil tensions are pushing fuel costs higher.
3. Human case of West Nile virus detected in Michigan after blood donation (cbsnews.com) — West Nile virus has been detected in mosquito populations in Macomb County this year, putting local residents on alert even though the first human case surfaced in West Michigan via a blood donation.
