Dakota Cheer Team to Compete in Regionals
Dakota's competitive cheer team will face top teams from around the region this Saturday at Lake Orion High School.

Winning 's first-ever for competitive cheer only whet the appetite of the Cougar team for Saturday's regional competition in Lake Orion.
Placing third in last weekend's districts qualified the team to advance to regionals.
"The girls are looking forward to competing against some of the best and most talented teams in the state," said Michela Worthy, Dakota’s coach for the past 10 years. "We are going in focused on doing our best and finishing the competition strong and with no regrets. Each girl is striving to give her all and to have no regrets at the end of the day."

The team will take the mat in round one regional competition at 10 a.m. Saturday at Lake Orion High School.
"I am so proud of my team," Worthy said. "We have overcome many obstacles this season and have grown as a team. The seniors have stepped up their leadership. The underclassmen have the drive and determination to take us to the next level. The Dakota cheer program is definitely on the map and will continue to grow stronger and more competitive."

The top four regional teams from Saturday advance to the state finals, where Dakota has yet to go.
