Teen Killed, Multiple Hurt In Macomb County Fiery Crash: Sheriff

Officials said the 16-year-old girl was trapped in the backseat of the car as it burst into flames.

MACOMB TOWNSHIP, MI — A 16-year-old girl was killed and two other people were injured in a fiery crash over the weekend in Macomb County, according to sheriff's officials.

The crash happened at 1:45 a.m. Saturday on Fairchild Road, near 22 Mile Road in Macomb Township, according to officials.

Officials said a Lincoln MKX struck a disabled Chevy Malibu in the northbound lanes on Fairchild Road.

The driver of the Malibu and two passengers were able to get out of the car, but the 16-year-old girl was trapped in the backseat as it burst into flames, officials said.

Officials said she died at the scene.

The driver and a passenger in the Malibu and a passenger in the Lincoln MKX were taken to a nearby hospital, where the severity of their injuries was unknown, officials said.

Officials are still investigating the crash.
