Dakota Golf Prevails at MAC White Tourney
The Cougars win the MAC White Division golf tournament by 16 strokes, and senior Justin Haase posts a hole-in-one.

The Cougars won the Macomb Area Conference White Division tournament by a resounding 16 strokes on May 31 at Pine Valley. The Cougars scored 306, outshooting L'Anse Creuse (322), Utica (327), Chippewa Valley (329), Port Huron Northern (328) and St. Clair (362).
"We've picked a good time of the year to play well," said Dakota golf coach Paul Tocco. "I'm very proud of our senior class. They are all good-character kids. They performed well and really came through."

Leading the charge for the Cougars was senior captain . The tournament's medalist shot 73–five strokes under his season average. Intravaia nailed an eagle 3 on the par-5 ninth hole, his last hole of the round. Using his driver and 6-iron to tackle the 504 yard hole, Intravaia was left with just a short putt to claim the eagle.
And, for the second time this season, a Dakota golfer shot a hole-in-one in tournament play.

Senior captain Justin Haase made his hole-in-one on the par-3 third hole. The pin was 141 yards and it was Haase's first hole-in-one.
Other low scores on the day were posted by L'Anse Creuse's Max Dorn (75), Shawn Carmody (76) and Haase (76).
Rounding out Dakota's scorers were Mike Huetteman with 77 and TJ Barden with 80.
The Cougars will spend the next few days preparing for the district tournament on Saturday at Selfridge.
"We played well, but really it all comes down to the districts," Tocco said. "We face tough competition and every team is capable of moving on to regionals. Hopefully, we'll be right in there."
