Anton Art Center Exhibit Opens

The Anton Art Center presents Cabinet, an exhibition that highlights selected works from the private collections of the center’s Exhibition Committee members. 

Cabinet opens Friday, April 29, with a reception from 6-9 pm.  The reception is free and open to the public.  The reception is hosted by Divine Restoration Ministries of Mount Clemens.

Cabinet will be on exhibit in the Anton Art Center’s Main Galleries through Friday, June 10. Works in all media will be on display.

Cabinet includes work by Joshua Abelow, Brad Adelmann, Jeannie Bieri, Alexander Bogardy, Jef Bourgeau, David Brainard, Sarah Burgess, James Carrillo, Helen Cartmell, Lisa Dillin, Andrew Doak, Bridget Farnack, Jacob Feige, Folk Ark, Jill Galerneau, Brian Giniewski, Emily Gustafson, Odawara Hatsunori, Tony Hepburn, Douglas Hoagg, Simen Johan, Abbigail Israelsen, Laith Karmo, Kyle Knodell, Kathy Leison, Kirk Martin, Nicholas Max Mayer, Eric McDade, Michigan Stones, Andrew Moore, Kristin Morgin, Scott Peterman, Paul David Rearick, G. Bradley Rhodes, Rudy Rotter, Mike E. Smith, John Henry Toney, Takashi Yasumura, Ron Zakrin and more.
 
Cabinet also continues the Anton Art Center’s collaboration with Meadow Brook Hall, with a special exhibition in the Boll History Gallery of objects collected by Matilda and Alfred Wilson.

The Wilsons were avid collectors and assembled both fine and decorative collections throughout most of the 20th century through their extensive travels, including a six-month trip to Africa, India, Spain, France and England, which attendees can explore when they visit the art center. This exhibit runs concurrently with Cabinet.
