Beaumont Health Systems is offering free weight-loss surgery seminars, one on Jan. 28 and a second on March 17.
Both seminars are overseen by Beaumont Weight Control Center experts, who will offer information on bariatric surgery options that Beaumont hospitals in Troy, Royal Oak and Grosse Pointe offer.
The lectures will be held at the Beaumont Medical Center n Hall Road east of Tilch, in Classroom 1.
Beaumont’s Weight Control Center offers a weight control and bariatric surgery program, led by medical, surgical, behavioral, nutrition and exercise experts who provide support before, during and after weight loss and surgery.
“As the obesity rates in the United States continue to increase, we have learned obese patients who focus on diet and exercise may be unable to achieve a healthy weight-loss. Numerous studies have proven that bariatric surgery promote long-term weight loss and significantly reduce comorbidities, such as diabetes, heart disease and osteoarthritis,” says Kerstyn Zalesin, M.D., director of bariatric program at Beaumont’s Weight Control Center.
There is no charge to attend the weight loss seminars. For more information or to register, call 888-899-4600 or visit classes.beaumont.edu.
