Daytime TV and the 1950s Woman

Marsha F. Cassidy, Ph.D., lecturer, University of Illinois at Chicago, analyzes daytime TV's earliest and most significant women's genres, applying a feminist perspective to what women watched prior to the prominence of the soap opera. This presentation is part of a series of programs, The 1950s: Affluence and Anxiety in the Atomic Age, at the Lorenzo Cultural Center, Hall and Garfield roads, Macomb Community College’s Center Campus, Clinton Township.
