The Dove Award Winning SIDEWALK PROPHETS (www.SidewalkProphets.com) are coming to Troy MI, Sunday, September 25, 2011 at 6:30pm at Faith
Lutheran Church – Worship Center, 37635 Dequindre Rd. The SIDEWALK PROPHETS were selected by the Dove Award Committee as the “Best New Artists”. Their latest three released songs “The Words I Would Say”, “You Can Have Me” and “Just Might Change Your Life” have been in the top five recordings on the Christian Music Charts. The SIDEWALK PROPHETS has played before over 500,000 people this year alone. Tickets are $17 and available online through www.GiftsForAllGodsChildren.org.
“We love performing,” Dave Frey (lead singer) says simply,
and you get the impression that is the simple truth. “But we also love the people we perform for,” he adds. “One of the first things we ever did as a band was to lead worship at chapel in college,” Dave’s music colleague, Ben McDonald interjects. “That was the connect point for us. Although we don’t consider ourselves to be a worship band, we probably do more worship music than our original music, and that’s fine with us.” Integrating worship with real life - that is one of the simple truths SIDEWALK PROPHETS has learned to live by. The band spend part of last December in the Congo supporting their missionary
effort. They have become a major sponsor of “She’s My Sister”, who’s effort is to protect the children in Africa from the harms of modern man.
Their latest addition to the group has a local flair, Shaun
Tomczak, who is originally from Rochester Hills, MI, is their lead guitarist. Shaun began his musical start with local bands which had two released CDs. “Spending the two years traveling the country in a 15 passengar van with the SIDEWALK PROPHETS, I’ve come to know the heart of this group of guys. They carry a great message to all, especially
the American’s youth, as to how to lead their lives” says Shaun.
