Mark Bittman, New York Times columnist and food writer, will discuss "The Future of Food," at the Lorenzo Cultural Center, Nov. 17.
Earlier this year, Bittman paid a visit to Detroit to tour Eastern Market and ended up writing about the city's urban farming accomplishments. At the Lorenzo Center on Thursday night, he'll share his thoughts on what's wrong with the way we eat.

This presentation is part of a series of programs, Michigan’s Harvest: Food, Farming and Community, now going on through Nov. 20.
Cost is $15 for adults, or $5 for seniors/students/military to attend the lecture only. For the meet-and-greet plus presentation, cost is $20, and begins at 5:30 p.m. Guests may also purchase a copy of his latest book, The Food Matters Cookbook: 500 Revolutionary Recipes for Better Living.
