
Ray Wiegand's Nursery holds its Harvest Fest Oct. 8-9 and Oct. 15-16, with fun for one and all, but especially the youngsters. A petting zoo will be set up, where everyone can meet rare and exotic animals animals such as a baby white tiger, a caracal lynx and a red kangaroo. Guests will also be able to hold and bottle feed some of the critters.
There is artsy fun to be had as well. Get your face painted or decorate a pumpkin, for starters. If you've built up an appetite, enjoy hot cider and donuts at the food tent. There will also be other indulgences for sale, including hot dogs, popcorn, caramel apples and other goodies to gobble.
Kids will have a blast in the caterpillar maze, on the straw tractor and playing farmer for a day.

Variety shows are planned at 3 p.m. both weekends, starring ventriloquist Richard Paul: Oct. 8 and 9 bring you the variety show, and Oct. 15 and 16 Ha Ha Halloween is in the house.
Costs vary from $1 to $5. Petting Farm is free, but feed costs $1. Caterpillar Maze costs $1. Richard Paul's shows cost $2. And to see the exotic animals, cost is $2 to view, and extra for photos.
