Macomb Co. Woman Escapes Son Who Had Guns During Domestic Dispute: MSP
There were no serious injuries and officers did not arrest anyone in connection to the incident, according to Michigan State Police.
RAY TOWNSHIP, MI — A woman escaped her Macomb County home Monday night during an argument with her adult son, who was armed with several long guns, according to Michigan State Police.
The 75-year-old woman told police that her 52-year-old son grabbed her arm and broke her phone to stop her from calling 911 during an argument at 7:35 p.m. inside a home near Romeo Plank and 30 Mile roads in Ray Township, according to Michigan State Police.
The elderly woman then made it outside the home where she met two officers, who were responding to the home on a report of a domestic dispute, according to Michigan State Police.

As officers made their way toward the home, the 52-year-old man went into the basement where more than 30 long guns were stored, according to Michigan State Police.
Officials confirmed nine of the guns were registered to the man.

Officials said officers took the woman to a safe location and then surrounded the home. They also blocked traffic from driving in front of the house, according to Michigan State Police.
Troopers used a PA system to try and get the man to safely come out of the house, but there was no movement, according to Michigan State Police.
Troopers then contacted the prosecutor's office to determine next steps, according to Michigan State Police.
"Troopers contacted the Macomb County Prosecutor Office, who advised troopers to clear the scene and complete and out of custody investigators report for review," police said. "The female victim did not require medical treatment and was assisted by family."
There were no arrests made in connection to the incident. Officials said charges will be considered once the out of custody report is completed and turned over to the prosecutor's office for review.
