Macomb Twp. Officials Act Fast To Save Unresponsive Toddler: Sheriff

Officials said the toddler was unresponsive and not breathing after falling into a swimming pool at a Macomb Township home.

MACOMB TOWNSHIP, MI — Macomb Township officials were praised for acting fast in saving an unresponsive toddler who fell in the family's swimming pool, according to the Macomb County Sheriff's Office.

Officials then airlifted the child to a hospital with Level-II pediatric trauma designation and was listed in stable condition, officials said.

On Monday, the parents told officials that the child was released from the hospital and expected to fully recover, officials said.

"This type of situation is one of the worst a parent can experience," said Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham. "The responding Deputies and Fire personnel acted swiftly, ensuring the toddler received lifesaving measures and hospital transportation as quickly as possible. I applaud these public servants for their exceptional efforts."
