Macomb Woman Fatally Shot While Making 911 Domestic Call: Sheriff
Woman is dead and her husband was injured in murder-attempted suicide, authorities said. Her 16-year-old son was in the home at the time.

MACOMB TOWNSHIP, MI — A Macomb Township woman was fatally shot in an apparent murder and attempted suicide early Saturday morning while making an emergency call to report a domestic dispute, the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office said
The sheriff’s office said in a news release the dispatcher taking the 911 call at 1:03 a.m. heard several shots during the call, and when officers arrived at the home on the 16000 block of Country Ridge Lane, they found the woman and her 44-year-old husband lying next to one another.
The woman, who was pronounced dead at the scene, sustained multiple gunshot wounds, police said. Her husband sustained an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound and was taken for treatment at an area hospital, where he is in custody, according to the release.

The woman’s 16-year-old son was in at the home at the time, police said, and was turned over to family members. He was not injured.
A .40 caliber handgun was found lying on the floor near the husband. The gun was registered to him, police said.

Police said records indicate there have been no prior domestic calls to the address. The investigation is continuing, and information will be presented to the Macomb County Prosecutor’s office when it is completed.
The name of the victim is being withheld pending positive identification with the Macomb County Medical Examiner’s Office. The name of the suspect is being held pending warrant authorization and arraignment.
