Man Accidentally Shoots Himself, Purposely Fires at Bed: Police
The 48-year-old Macomb County man could be charged with reckless use of a firearm, authorities said.

Macomb Township, MI β Authorities say a Macomb Township man who accidentally shot himself in the hand during a Fourth of July camping excursion β and then reportedly shot the bed of the camper out of frustration β could face charges.
The Oceana County Sheriffβs Office told the Muskegon Chronicle that the 48-year-old man, who wasnβt identified, could be charged with reckless use of a handgun in the incident that unfolded about 8:45 p.m. Sunday at Jellystone Campground near Silver Lake.

"He then chose to fire off another round into the bed in the camper he was staying in because he was upset that he just wounded himself," Lt. Craig Mast of the sheriff's office told the newspaper.
The man told authorities he didnβt think the gun was loaded.

He was taken to Mercy Health Lakeshore Campus in Shelby by private vehicle, according to the report.
