On the Agenda in Chippewa Valley: PTOs, $300K in Textbook Purchases, Algonquin Promotion

  • The board will approve $373,442 worth of textbooks and associated materials for use in the district's elementary, middle and high schools.

Community Groups Recognized for 2011-12

  • The board will recognize the existence of 26 community support groups, including elementary PTOs, high school booster clubs, sports clubs, academic groups and dance teams.

If adopted by the board, this new policy will set guidelines for students to earn credits required for high school graduation in the following cases:

  • Alternate settings
  • Scheduling conflicts
  • Homebound instruction
  • Supplement to summer school
  • Expulsion

District Agreement with American Academy

  • The American Academy is a private company that specializes in providing educational services to students who have dropped out of school and may wish to re-enroll in an alternate educational setting.
  • The American Academy will provide a laptop computer to access the online curriculum and a mentor to guide district students to graduation.

Algonquin Promotion

  • With the recent appointment of to the post of principal, Gardner's former assistant principal position at Algonquin Middle School was left vacant. The board plans to promote Raymond Buccilli to that position tonight.
  • The appointment will be effective Aug. 16.
