On the Agenda: What CV School Board Will Consider at Tonight's Meeting

The board will discuss the revision of several personnel policies and the award of almost $50,000 in commissioning services for the district's five high school buildings.

The revision of several board policies in regard to personnel and the approval of almost $50,000 in commissioning services to a local contractor are among the issues the Chippewa Valley School Board will consider at its 6:30 p.m. Monday meeting.

The following is a short overview of some of the items on the agenda:

  • Approve Bid Award for Commissioning Services: To award a contract totaling $48,750 for commissioning services to Fishbeck, Thompson, Carr & Huber. Through "commissioning," FTC&H can verify that the renovations intended for the five high school buildings meets the needs and functions of the facilities. The results will provide a more comfortable environment and energy savings.
  • Approve Revision to Board Policies No. 3122 & No. 4122/Nondiscrimination and Equal Employment Opportunity: Revisions will make the policy comply with Title II of the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act of 2008.
  • Approve Revision to Board Policy No. 3437.01 and No. 4437.01/Military Leave: Revisions will update the policy to comply with state laws regarding military leave of absence and recognize the Michigan Department of Military and Veteran's Affairs.
  • Approve Revision to Board Policy No. 75101 Use of School Facilities: Revisions will recognize the partnership between the district and community support groups that hold events and raise funds to enhance the educational experience of Chippewa students.
