
A substation failure caused a power outage in northeastern Macomb County this afternoon, the Macomb Daily News is reporting.
DTE spokesperson Lisa Bolla reported that two underground cables that supply power to a pair of substations failed, causing the outage. The result was 12,000 users without power.
Bolla said crews could not say why the lines failed.

According to the Detroit News, power to all customers was restored about 1 p.m. ahead of schedule.
