• Historic Big Rapids Old Jail clears state review for national listing (theheraldreview.com) — Mecosta County residents may soon see the historic Old Jail in Big Rapids added to the National Register of Historic Places, after the state review board approved the city’s application. Federal officials will now decide within about 30 days, potentially unlocking tax-credit funding that could help restore and repurpose the 1893 landmark for future community use.
