• New wildfire burns about 180 acres in Northern Michigan (abc12.com) — Fire danger remains very high across Northern Michigan, and officials note the recent Mapes Fire burned 124 acres just west of Mio near Lost Creek Lodge. While a new wildfire is now burning in Presque Isle County, it’s a reminder that dry, windy weather and leftover storm debris are keeping the Mio area at elevated wildfire risk.
