• A Mount Morris man who stopped a 2017 terrorist attack has died (abc12.com) — Mount Morris is mourning Joe “Shoeshine Joe” Garza, the longtime Bishop Airport shoe shiner who bravely tackled the attacker during the 2017 stabbing of a police lieutenant in Flint. Garza, remembered by many as a father figure and community helper, died peacefully last Wednesday surrounded by family, leaving a legacy of everyday courage and kindness that deeply touched local residents.
