• Treed black bear captured in Mount Pleasant safely relocated to Northern Michigan swamp (mlive.com) — A 150-pound black bear that wandered deep into a Mount Pleasant neighborhood near CMU and Soaring Eagle Casino was safely tranquilized and relocated to the Houghton Lake area. Local police, firefighters, city workers, and DNR biologists teamed up to capture the healthy bear using a borrowed Mount Pleasant High School pole vault pad, while also reminding residents how to avoid attracting bears into yards.
