• UP residents named to state organizations (wnmufm.org) — A Negaunee resident, George Lindquist, has been appointed to Michigan’s Natural Resources Commission, giving the community a direct voice in statewide conservation and outdoor policy. Lindquist, active in several U.P. sportsmen’s groups, will serve a four-year term starting in 2027. Another Upper Peninsula leader, Judge Chris Ninomiya, was reappointed to the Governor’s Task Force on Child Abuse and Neglect.
