Chesterfield PT Receives Excellence in Teaching Award from the American Physical Therapy Association

Christopher Wilson of Chesterfield, MI, was selected to receive APTA's Signe Brunnström Award for Excellence in Clinical Teaching.

Physical therapist and American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) member Christopher Wilson PT, DScPT, DPT, GCS, received APTA’s Signe Brunnström Award for Excellence in Clinical Teaching during the association’s NEXT Conference & Exposition, held in National Harbor, Maryland, June 3-6, 2015.

He is center coordinator of clinical education for acute care and inpatient rehabilitation at Beaumont Hospital Troy in Troy, Michigan.

The Signe Brunnström Award for Excellence in Clinical Teaching honors individuals who have demonstrated exceptional teaching effectiveness in the clinical setting, excellence as a role model in clinical teaching, and distinct expertise in at least one area of practice to which the clinical teaching has been directed. Wilson was an active clinical instructor while still a full-time clinician. He coaches novice clinical instructors to provide students with high-quality clinical affiliations in acute care and inpatient rehabilitation.
