12 Days of Christmas

The residents of Quail Ridge invite you to drive through its subdivision and enjoy the 12 Days of Christmas.  Located on the south side of Eight Mile, just west of Meadowbrook, look for the lighted trees along Woodcreek Boulevard to guide your way through to the back of the sub.

Originally started in 1995, the idea for the display was brought to life after Linnie Jo Strunk (now of Ft. Myers, Florida) saw a similar display while visiting family in Texas.  Artistic residents were recruited to create patterns for each “day” and working in garages after work and on the weekends, plywood was turned into painted caricatures.

While the original creators may have moved to warmer climates, the current residents decided last year to redistribute the 12 Days throughout the subdivision, allowing all residents to decorate for the season and add to the fun.  Inclement weather had taken its toll on several pieces and they had to be recreated from scratch (and one may have relocated to a new state by accident), but all accounted for now.  Lighted from Thanksgiving to New Year’s Day, please feel free to get into the spirit of Christmas at Quail Ridge, all from the warmth of your vehicle.

And, please join us on Christmas Eve for our annual lighted Christmas Lane beginning at 5:30 p.m., where luminaries will light your way until the candles melt away.
