Spring is in full swing, and as we rush around from work to home and back again, time is at a premium. From sandwiches to salads or pizzas, Holiday Market can free you up to feed your family – without having to beak a sweat.

 Overall: Holiday Market goes beyond an ordinary grocery experience. Its department is a sprawling oasis of sliced meats and cold salads, fresh pastas and breads, as well as daily baked pastries and cooked foods. The meat and seafood departments offer a vast selection of cold cuts sold behind the counter and open coolers of fresh and frozen ones. There is also a soup and salad bar near the front of the store (just beyond the floral department), which has a variety of prepared sandwiches.

Food: With just about any prepared-food selection you make, most of the work is already done for you. So, enjoying a quick lunch or an evening meal is easy. If you’re in the market for something a bit more substantial – say, a weekend BBQ – the meat and produce departments are full of ideas and choices.

Pricing: For a quick lunch, the soup and salad bar is $4.99 a pound, and sandwiches range from $3-$6. Sushi rolls begin at $4, ranging up to about $10, and cold salads at the deli counter include an antipasto salad for $5.99, a Greek orzo salad for $5.99 and potato salad for $2.99 (or redskin potato salad for $3.49). The olive bar has numerous stuffed and marinated olives, as well as roasted garlic and peppers and mozzarella bites, all for $8.99/lb.

Grilled chicken breasts from the deli are $4.99 a pound (BBQ are $5.99 a pound), cooked salmon steaks are $9.99 a pound, and twice-baked potatoes are $2.39 each. Frozen pasties (including beef, chicken or calzones) are $2.99. Spinach dip ranges from $4-5, hommus $4-6 and fiesta or Mexicali dips $3-5. The meat department offers stuffed pork chops or chicken breasts for $3.99 a pound. And for grilling, strip steaks begin at $13 a pound, pork ribs at $2 a pound, ground chuck at $3.89 a pound and lamb chops are $14.99.
