Bites Nearby: Flavorful Mediterranean Food in Canton

La Sharm is Canton's spot for authentic Mediterranean cuisine.

Overview: La Sharm is one of Canton’s finest Mediterranean eateries. It offers a unique dining experience, one that has a distinct cultural flare. Even if you’re not familiar with Mediterranean cuisine, or its cultural origins, your taste buds will not lead you astray. From salads to its trademark grilled meats (including beef, chicken and lamb), La Sharm is worth your time.

Food: Vegetables are at the heart of any Mediterranean feast. Hommous is a well-known dish (a creamy blend of chick peas, lemon juice and garlic), as well as a kabob (grilled meats on a skewer) and shawarma (which is sliced meats cooked on a spinning roaster.) La Sharm’s dishes are all hearty portions, accompanied by rice and either salad or soup. Combination platters can be ordered, for those who are in an adventurous mood. And for vegetarians, there are a wealth of dishes available: Baba Ghanooj (ground eggplant with lemon juice and garlic), tabbouli (chopped parsley, tomatoes, scallions, cracked wheat, olive oil and lemon juice) and vegetarian ghallaba (potatoes sautéed with vegetables).

Atmosphere: Genuine Mediterranean. From its ornate tapestries – draped throughout – to its shimmering gold accents, the experience at the table makes you almost feel as if you have been transported to another place. The service is cordial, accommodating and respectful of all its guests.
