The Nordstrom department store is known for its generous return policy but the Twelve Oaks Mall location in Novi also has a fantastic restaurant that is often bustling with business.

The Nordstrom Cafe Bistro has a cozy atmosphere and an expansive menu featuring soups, salads, sandwiches and several other entrees and specials.

The tomato-based crab bisque is available every day at $4.50 a cup as well as french onion soup for $6.50 and a soup of the day. One of the favorites is the blue cheese and pear salad for $10.25 or the Nicoise salad with salmon for $12.95. Brick oven pizzas are also available as well as the bistro club sandwich with sliced chicken breast, organic baby greens, crisp bacon and Roma tomatoes for $10.95. Spicy fries come served in a metal shaped cone and there is a kids' menu with the usual grilled cheese, chicken fingers or buttered noodles.

Save room for dessert! The Nordstrom Cafe Bistro crème brule is some of the best I've ever tasted and the triple berry shortcake is made with real whipped cream layered with fruit between a crusty sugar-coated shortbread cake that can easily be shared with one or two other people.

The Nordstrom Cafe Bistro is open on Sunday from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m.
