Downtown Northville Salon Adds Flare to Hair and More

Salon Tre Bella V is a dream come true for first time business owner, Jessie Simcheck.

After working in different salons over the years, Jessie Simcheck finally did what she always dreamed of doing – opening her own salon.

“It was just time. It has always been a desire to open my own place and I knew that one day, when the time was right, I would do it,” Simcheck said.

Living in South Lyon, but with most of her clientele in this area, she thought about opening closer to home, or ever further west, in Brighton, but soon realized Northville was where she needed to be. Shortly after, was open downtown.

“To leave that and go more west toward where I live, to me, wasn’t giving back to my clientele, my roots,” she said.

“I love Northville. I think it’s so quaint. I think the people here really support one another. Northville definitely supports Northville."

She added, "For me personally, setting up in a plaza or strip mall is just not me. I like to connect with people. I like to talk with them. I like to wave as they walk by the window. It has smaller hometown feeling where I can really connect with my clients and build a team that really is a family.”

When Simcheck started thinking of what to call her business, family was not far from her mind. She wanted something unique without making it all about her. Salon Tre Bella V is a tribute to her daughters.

“I wanted to make the salon something about myself without putting ‘me’ [in the title]. Tre Bella V is Italian for three beautiful V’s and I have three beautiful daughters: Victoria, Valerie and Vanessa.”

Victoria Simcheck, her oldest daughter, also works at the salon. She’s been there since the opening almost three years ago and that’s something very special to Jessie.

“It’s absolutely rewarding. We get along so well and to see her grow really just warms my heart,” Jessie said. “We do have a great relationship. I home schooled all my kids, so we have a different connection, I think. We really respect each other.”

Growing up, Victoria never imagined herself in a salon, working toward her cosmetology license as an apprentice, but that’s just what happened.

“She [Jessie] always just worked at a salon and I was at home, so I never really knew exactly what she did. When she opened three years ago, I thought, oh, this is great. It’s not just about coming in and doing someone’s hair. There’s so much more I know now from being in the business and that’s why I love it.”

Kristin Kamienecki of Novi has been a client of Jessie’s for over three years and really enjoys the atmosphere at Salon Tre Bella V, but even more so, Jessie’s great attitude.

“My husband and I used to see her [at another salon] before she opened here. She’s terrific at doing hair,” Kristin said. “From a style perspective, she’s always trying new products to keep the best lines in here, because she thinks they’re good products, not because she’s getting paid to.”

It’s that drive to give her customers the best that keep them coming back to Salon Tre Bella V.  Helping others look and feel good makes her job all that much more rewarding.  Her positive energy comes from a motto she lives by.

“Live your life likes it's 75 and sunny,” Jessie said. “It could be pouring rain outside or snowing up to two feet, but if you live your life like it's 75 and sunny, you can always bring a smile to someone’s face.”
