The Northville Art House and charity partner, Forgotten Harvest, are proud to present the first annual “Reel Michigan” Film Festival on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at Genittis-Hole-In-the-Wall. Reel Michigan will feature a wide variety of Michigan-made and Michigan-themed short films, as well as two full- length features. Many of the films have received multiple awards at previous festivals throughout the United States.
Emceed by local personality Jimmy Doom, the films will be shown in three groups at 12:00 noon; 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. (Note: the films shown at 6:00 p.m. are for ages 17 and older only.) After the final group of movies have been screened, the Reel Michigan after-glow party will ensue at Genitti’s where drinks and appetizers will be served and guests will mix and mingle with local actors, filmmakers and artists, then watch as awards are given to filmmakers in each category. A d.j. will also be on hand to provide music throughout the evening. Special guest performance throughout the day by local artist, Satori Circus.
Reel Michigan will also host special workshops and guest speakers including local actors Gordon Michaels from “Unbeatable Harold”, Jimmy Doom from “Kill the Irishman”, and Tiren Jhames from “Detroit 187". More information and registration details are available at www.northvillearts.org.
