The Life of Gllen

Gllen was an interesting shaped by a life in the Navy- by Madeline Adler

Gllen was born in 1925, in Kalamazoo, he was a man who was shaped by his service in the Navy. He had three brothers, a loving mom, and a dad who was a baker. He loved to swim, and his love of water was continued throughout his life in the service. He was always a patriotic man; he served in the Navy where he was stationed in the South Pacific, and then became a scout leader. His education was only through high school and he joined the Navy at eighteen. While in the service he was astounded by the number of people who did not know how to swim! While serving he had many adventures, the biggest was when he was caught in a large typhoon where two of the ships in his fleet went down. He also traveled to Hawaii, San Francisco, and even Japan! His advice to today’s youth is “Be good! Don’t go to jail, and make something of your life!”. Gllen claimed his life was “average” but I believe otherwise, even the most mediocre things can become extraordinary in the eyes of a new generation.
