The Life of Jerry

Jerry Rasak was an interesting man with an amazing past- by Madeline Adler

Jerry Rasak was born on February, 18th, 1937 into a family with five other siblings; who he was very close with. His parents were Middle Eastern immigrants. Jerry’s sisters looked after him, even though his sisters were his primary care givers his mother was extremely protective of him, he wasn’t even allowed to play spots or ride a two wheel bicycle! As a teen he played softball with friends, liked to ice skate, and spent his Saturdays at the movies. Jerry also had many jobs such as a sales man, a mail man and he eventually started his own wholesale produce company. He also said that the starting and advancing of his company was some of the most impactful events in his life. The other event Jerry said had the biggest impact on his life was the passing of his parents; he claims it made him a much stronger person. As an adult jerry had many adventures! He went to France in the 1980’s to expand his knowledge of fine wines. Jerry also shared his opinions and advice towards today’s youth. “I believe that children today do not take pride in their country!” was one of his stronger opinions. He also thinks kids today should be more frugal, “when I was young I had to share one orange with my five siblings and I, times were different.” He explains. Perhaps the best advice he gave was to always be honest! Jerry Rasak has an amazing story, and what you are reading today
