Metro Detroit Businesses Honor Vets With Free Meals, Deals

One way to thank a veteran, according to many businesses: Give them a free meal.

Heading up to Veteran's Day on Sunday, Nov. 11, here's a look at some Dearborn businesses offering free food, discounts and even Slurpees to veterans and servicemembers, courtesy of themilitarywallet.com.

Chili’s: Veterans and active servicemembers receive one of seven meals free from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. on Nov. 11. Dine-in only, and proof of service needed.  20901 Haggerty Road in Novi.

Home Depot: A 10 percent discount for all active duty personnel, reservists, retired military, veterans and their families in honor of Veteran’s Day. The offer is valid on purchases of up to $2,000. There's one located at Seven Mile and Haggerty roads and another at Five Mile and Beck roads in Plymouth.

Little Caesars: Free Crazy Bread with proof of service for all veterans and active military members on Monday, Nov. 12.

Red Robin: Free Red’s Tavern Double and Bottomless Steak Fries for all Red Robin guests with a military ID or proof of service on Monday, Nov. 12. There's one located just east of Haggerty Road on Six Mile Road.

The Olive Garden: Free entree for veterans and active duty military all day on Sunday, Nov. 11. Chose from a special menu. There's one in Novi at 43300 Crescent Boulevard.

Tim Hortons: A free star-spangled doughnut to all veterans on Sunday, Nov. 11. Get this offer at nearby locations in Plymouth on Sheldon Road, south of Five Mile Road or at 1201 S Main St.

7-Eleven: Free small Slurpee to all current and former military members on Sunday, Nov. 11 from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Offer good to. Proof of service required. There's one located at 43340 Warren Road in Canton.
