MOD PIZZA TO OFFER FREE MEALS TO VETERANS, ACTIVE MILITARY PERSONNEL ON MEMORIAL DAY
All five MOD Pizza locations participating as a way to thank the men and women who serve our country
Livonia, Mich.-based TEAM Schostak Family Restaurants (TSFR), a family-owned restaurant group with an expansive portfolio of casual dining, quick-service and family dining restaurants throughout the state of Michigan, announced today that its MOD Pizza restaurants will offer free meals to veterans and active military personnel on Memorial Day, May 30, 2016, to honor our troops. TSFR Brand Leader of MOD Pizza Jake Schostak made the announcement.
As a token of its appreciation for the men and women who have sacrificed their lives to serve our country, all five MOD Pizza restaurants throughout metro Detroit—including Livonia, Northville, Woodhaven, Brighton and Rochester Hills—will celebrate Memorial Day by providing a free MOD or Mini sized pizza or salad to those who have courageously served or are currently enlisted in military services.
“The MOD Pizza brand has been grown with the intention and goal to impact as many lives as possible and give back to the communities we serve,” said Schostak. “As a proud supporter of our troops, we are honored to give back to the men and women who have selflessly given so much of themselves to protect our country. We look forward to honoring these individuals and treating them to the complete MOD experience.”

Based in Seattle, MOD’s individual artisan-style pizzas are made on demand, using fresh-pressed dough and signature sauces, including MOD red sauce and MOD white sauce. As the company that launched the fast-casual pizza niche, guests can create their own pizzas and salads, using any combination of more than 30 fresh-featured toppings, or they can choose from a menu of MOD classics. Each pizza is hand-cooked in an 800 degree oven in five minutes or less and salads are hand-tossed in front of the customer. MOD also serves local draft beers, wine, handspun milkshakes, and house-made lemonades and iced teas.
In late 2014, TSFR announced its plans to launch 25 MOD Pizza locations in Michigan during the next five years. An individual artisan-style pizza concept created in Seattle, TSFR opened its first five MOD Pizza locations last year, and recently announced a sixth location at 23 Mile and Gratiot in Chesterfield and a seventh location on Ford Road between Haggerty and Lilley in Canton.
