Monroe Bank & Trust Receives Award from Governor
The bank is winner of the 2011 Michigan Community Service Commission's Governor's Service Award for Corporate Leadership.

(MBT) was named the winner of the 2011 Michigan Community Service Commission’s Governor’s Service Award for Corporate Leadership last week at a ceremony with Governor Rick Snyder at the Gem Theatre in Detroit. MBT was one of 5 finalists in the corporate category.
The Corporate Leadership Award recognizes the commitment made by all employees, both hourly and salaried, and includes corporate volunteer programs, monetary contributions, inkind gifts, and employee-driven volunteer service. The other finalists were AT&T of Detroit, Bay Regional Medical Center of Bay City, Comerica of Detroit and the Michigan Baseball Foundation/Great Lakes Loons/EDPN 100.9 FM of Midland.

“We are very honored to receive this recognition on behalf of the MBT employees who give so generously of their time and talents throughout each and every year. It is especially humbling to be in such prestigious company with our fellow nominees,” said President and CEO Doug Chaffin.
This year’s finalists were selected by a statewide peer review panel comprised of representatives from nonprofit organizations, schools, businesses and the MCSC Board of Commissioners.

“Michigan is blessed to have so many volunteers who are working together to make a difference in their communities,” said Governor Snyder. “Though we can never truly thank them enough for their service and for the profound impact they make in their communities, the Governors Service Awards are a way that we can recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of Michigan’s dedicated volunteers.
The ceremony was streamed live on WTVS Channel 56.
