Here are some local chocolate picks from around Northville.
Chocolate lovers love Valentine's Day because it is an easy excuse to indulge. It's one of the top three busiest times of the year at on Main Street where owner Stephanie Acho-Tartoni says they are celebrating their 15th year in that location.
From chocolate-covered rice krispie treats on a stick to chocolate shaped like a record album, a bingo game even chocolate handcuffs that read “I'm a prisoner of your love.”
It's “all in good clean fun,” said to Acho-Tartoni, who touts the health benefits of dark chocolate especaily when it covers almonds or cherries. There is plenty to choose from at Chocolates by Renee including popular truffles in a heart shaped box. They have chocolate in every price range, budget and passion and maybe something you hadn't thought of before.

At the on Haggerty Road in Northville the chocolates come in a heart shaped container made of chocolate making them 100 percent edible.
Owners Jeff and Emily Barker offer four different sizes of heart shaped chocolate boxes which can be filled with 70 different types of truffles. Raspberry ganache is their most popular flavor but you can also pick from key lime, mint, mocha and Grand Marnier. Giant chocolate covered strawberries are also popular around Valentine's Day dipped in milk, dark or white chocolate. There are solid chocolate teddy bears and, for the hard to buy for guy on your list, chocolate golf balls or cigars.

Schakolad will be open all weekend including 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday.
