• Washtenaw County residents push for a voice in Arbor Hills landfill expansion decision (wxyz.com) — Northville Township residents are joining neighbors to challenge a proposed expansion of the Arbor Hills Landfill in nearby Salem Township, citing health, environmental, and long-term financial concerns. They're pressing Washtenaw County planners and commissioners for more community input before key votes this fall that could shape the landfill's future for decades.
• Northville hoarding case among 4 rescues bringing 149 cats to shelter (hometownlife.com) — A major cat hoarding case in a Northville home was one of four recent rescues that sent 149 cats to the Humane Society of Huron Valley, which is now over capacity. With cat intakes sharply up this year, the shelter is offering free adoptions for many adult and barn cats and asking the community for adopters and donations.
