Get in on the Big Library Read

Novi Public library has signed on to participate in the Big Library Read pilot program scheduled to run from May 15^th to June 1^st, 2013. More than 2,000 libraries from eight countries are joining in this worldwide “library book club” to unite the world in reading the same eBook title and to demonstrate the power of libraries. Thanks to the generosity of author Michael Malone, every member of the Novi community (with a valid library card) can read the eBook of Four Corners of the Sky at the same time at no cost to the library!  This title will be available to enjoy on all major devices, including Kindle® (US only) and iPad®, as well as in the browser via OverDrive Read™.

Not only is this a great opportunity to get involved and try out our eBook collection but you’ll be giving some valuable feedback as well.  Together with Sourcebooks, OverDrive will be tracking interest and sales (in print and in eBook formats) that result from the broad library exposure.  OverDrive will share valuable data from the pilot with Sourcebooks and participating libraries including the exposure, sampling, checkouts and social media interaction.  Speaking of social media, if you’re interested in discussing the title or the program get on our twitter page here or follow Michael Malone and let us know what you think.  It’s our hope that the data gathered through this event will demonstrate the positive influence libraries and their patrons can have on the market.
