Go “On the Road” this fall with Novi Public Library

Take a road trip with Novi Public Library and explore the unique culture of our wonderful state.

The concept of a road trip might be synonymous with summer, but it doesn’t mean you have to sit back and watch the leaves change color from home this fall.  On Thursday, October 4th and Friday, November 2nd Novi Public Library will be taking to the road to explore two of Michigan’s biggest cities and we want you to come with us!  Join NPL’s very own Margi Karp-Opperer and County Commissioner Kathy Crawford for these special events.

The first trip will take travelers to Lansing for a guided tour of the State Capitol, the State Supreme Court, as well as a visit and photo opportunity with state representative Hugh Crawford.  To top it all off there will be a luncheon at the English Inn (winner of Lansing’s best of the best award) followed by a tour of their garden and a discussion of the Inn’s history.  This trip will cost $71 which covers deluxe transportation by Carr’s Motorcoach, lunch, door prizes, and admission fees.

The second tour will explore Detroit’s art and architecture starting with a trip to the Detroit Institute of Arts where there will be a presentation and special tour of the exhibit Faberge: Rise & Fall.  There will also be a tour highlighting Detroit architecture as well as a luncheon at the award winning Rattlesnake Club.  This trip will cost $73 and it covers transportation, lunch, door prizes, and admission fees.

So while you might not be able to swing a tropical vacation in Fiji that doesn’t mean you can’t get away for a day and explore what our state has to offer.  For more information check out our flyers here and here
