Honoring Martin Luther King, Jr. at Novi Public Library
Come honor the memory of Martin Luther King, Jr. at Novi Public Library on January 21st.

Enough can’t be said about the cultural impact Martin Luther King, Jr. has had on our society. With that in mind Novi Public Library in partnership with the Novi School District has created a daylong event to celebrate this man’s legacy. On January 21st the library will be hosting a variety of different programs honoring Martin Luther King as well as highlighting the trials and triumphs of black history.
The day will start with youth programs for Grades 4 and under where participants can enjoy interactive stories, crafts, and puzzles that both entertain and inform. Later in the day, the library will be featuring the Saffold Collection, a black history mobile museum in our lobby. This exhibit will feature memorabilia that spans from the time of slavery to the Hip Hop age with original documents and artifacts. We will wrap up the day with a panel discussion focusing on how we can integrate King’s vision and words into our community.
In addition to these programs the library will also have a featured display on our second floor featuring materials highlighting black history. Whether it's biographies, histories, or writing from notable African American authors there's sure to be something that will catch your eye. So come listen, learn, and contribute to the discussion and share King’s message not just on Monday, but every day with your community. For more information on these programs click here.
