Local Author/Artist Collection Now Showing at Novi Public Library

Establishing yourself as an author or artist can be a pretty tricky process.  Even after the labor of creating the art is finished there are still a variety of steps one has to take before they get their due.  However, Novi Public Library is looking to make that process one step easier with our new Novi Author/Artist Collection.  If you are an author or artist who is currently living in or originally from Novi, now is your chance to get your book, cd, or movie on our shelves. 

Of course with great oppurtunity comes great responsibility and there are a few guidelines before you can tell all your friends to check out your new post-hardcore-cybergrind-deathmetal-opera magnum opus album of the decade.  All material submitted must begin with 2011 publication dates, and it must be a donation to the library and submitted to the director.  All genres of material for both youth and adults will be considered and if the material hasn’t been checked out in two years it will be considered for removal.  Beyond that just use your common sense when submitting your material.   If it’s not something you’d generally see in the library odds are it probably won’t get accepted. 

For those wanting to check out this new collection it will be located on the second floor right near the business and international collections.  A librarian will always be happy to point it out for you if you can’t find it.  So while you might not have an agent or a six figure deal you can still get your art out there and who better to appreciate it than your own community.
