Walking with purpose

This summer my organization, Professionals Against Bullying, decided to not only stand up to bullying but to walk for it. What does that mean? Many people participate in walk-a-thon events in which fundraising for a cause is the major component. Typically people go to a location and walk as a team and bring both awareness and opportunity to the cause. We are doing the same thing—but instead of making it a one-day event, we are making it a month-long initiative. So to participate, you can take a walk in your neighborhood, in your work parking lot or on your gym's treadmill.

It does not matter how much you walk—it matters that when you do, you remember to Tweet it, Facebook it or share it with others that you are walking in the name of anti-bullying. More info is available at: http://step4antibullying.chipin.com/step4antibullying

I am finding that I have explored the beautiful neighborhoods, parks and attractions of Novi more than I ever have, and I have lived here for almost eight years. More than that, I am able to think of the many victims of bullying who do not have a voice and make my steps count in their fight to be heard.
