Crime Report: Several Lawns Run Over by Vehicle; Woman's Car Vandalized for Second Time

The following arrest information was supplied by the Novi Police Department for the period of Aug. 15-16. It does not indicate a conviction.

Several lawns damaged by vehicle

Four lawns were damaged early Aug. 16 by a vehicle driving over them, according a police report. A resident on Cedarwood Drive near 10 Mile Road woke up at 4:15 a.m. that day when he heard a loud booming sound come from the front of his house, said the report. When he looked outside, the man noticed tire tracks going across the lawn that had torn up his grass in several locations, the report said. The man did not see the vehicle that did it but noted that the tracks looked wider than those of a car, the report said. According to the report, several foot-long patches of grass were torn up, and three other nearby lawns were damaged. The police were unable to find the suspected vehicle, the report said.

Woman's vehicle vandalized for second time

A woman on Kentucky Avenue near Napier Road reported that her vehicle was vandalized for a second time sometime between 6:15 p.m. Aug. 15 and 1 p.m. Aug. 16, according to a police report. Her vehicle was first vandalized sometime on Aug. 9 or Aug. 10 with blue spray paint, which she had since removed, the report said. The second time, her car was damaged with the same paint, the report said. Her registration sticker on her license plate was spray-painted blue, and the paint had dripped down to cover a number on her license plate, the report said. According to the report, the woman does not know who is responsible, but she has seen the same color of spray paint all around Novi Meadows Trailer Park on vandalized street signs, other vehicles and public areas. A detective is investigating the vandalism in the rest of the park, the report said.
