Property Damaged

A man and his wife said they were sitting on their porch on Scenic Lane on July 17 at 12:23 a.m. when they saw a car drive down the street and stop near their car parked in the road. They heard a noise, and then the car drove out of the subdivision. The man went to find that the window on the driver’s side was broken, likely from a pellet gun, according to the man’s statement in the police report. After police responded to the man’s report, an officer checked more vehicles on the road for damage and found a Dodge truck parked in front of Scenic Lane with the driver’s side rear door window shattered but still in place in the frame. This was “presumably from the same suspect using a pellet gun,” said the police report.

A female employee at the Ironworkers Local Union Hall at 25130 Trans X Rd. reported that someone wrote graffiti on an electrical box on the Hall property between 5 p.m. July 15 and 7 a.m. July 18, according to the police report. The graffiti, done in permanent marker, read “THE ETERNAL STREET KING.” Police recommended the hall install a surveillance camera or possibly move the wall that conceals the area to prevent future incidents, the report said.

A man was arrested July 12 at 9:37 p.m. for operating while intoxicated. Another driver called police to report a possible drunken driver and followed the man from Grand River Avenue and Beck Road until he pulled into a driveway on Windridge Lane, the police report said. A police officer then arrived at the house, where the man admitted that he had just driven, according to the police report. The man had a blood-alcohol level of 0.158, according to his breathalyzer test in the report, which is over Michigan’s legal driving limit of 0.08.

Another man was arrested for operating while intoxicated at 1:13 a.m. on July 16 on Grand River Avenue and Novi Road, according to a police report.
