Get To Know Novi Public Library - Evan Smale

1. What is your name, and title?

Evan Smale – Electronic Services Librarian

2. How long have you been employed at NPL?

A little over 2 years

3. Would you please describe your job? (in a nutshell)

Besides interviewing myself for this post, I’m in charge of the library’s social media pages (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Blog posts, and a couple Vines here and there) manage the databases - aka the online tools on our webpage, help manage our webpage, order computer books, reference work on the desk, take a good deal of photographs at programs, and a bunch of other miscellaneous tasks. 

4. What are some of your favorite music albums?

There are quite a lot of great albums out there, but a few that I keep coming back to are “Shape of Punk to Come” by Refused, “Red Medicine” by Fugazi, “The Wild Hunt” by Tallest Man on the Earth, and “Cum Laude” by The Velvet Teen.

5.  If you could be any cartoon character which would you be?

Scrooge Mcduck, if only for the opportunity to swim in my vast amounts of wealth.

6. If you could learn to do anything really well what would it be?

The ability to do what I currently enjoy, (play music) but actually be good at it.
