
This summer has seen a lot of heat waves and a lot of storms. A great place in Novi to go cool off is Lakeshore Beach, which is just off of South Lake Drive by Walled Lake.
The lifeguards at Lakeshore have been busy helping beach visitors stay safe and have a fun time at the beach. The staff works hard each day to keep the beach clean and safe.
There are a few things to remember when you visit Lakeshore:

· Please bring plenty of sunscreen and water. The beach has little shade on it, and usually gets a direct view of the sun.
· Please keep track of your things, including sand toys and floaties.

· Please do not bring alcohol or glass drinks onto the beach.
· Please do not bring your bikes or pets onto the beach.
· The beach is not a launch site. No motorized vehicles or kayaks may enter the swim area.
· You may not leave the swim area, which is roped off, unless it is at an individual lifeguard’s discretion.
· You may not enter the beach from outside the swim area. While you are allowed to set anchor 100 ft. away from the swim area, you may not swim onto the beach.
· When thunder is heard, the beach will be closed off for the next 30 minutes for your safety. If lightning is spotted, the beach will be closed for 45 minutes.
Lakeshore Beach is open every day from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
