Novi Issues Mandatory Boil Water Notice
The notice is for residents who live in the north area of the city.

The City of Novi has issued a mandatory boil water notice to all consumers north of 12 Mile Road and east of East Lake Drive/Old Novi Road/Novi Road (sections 1, 2, 11, and 12) in Novi, according to a press release from the City of Novi at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
A "boil water notice" means that it is recommended that you do not use water from your tap for drinking or cooking purposes unless it is boiled for five minutes. If the water is used for drinking purposes it should be cooled in a sealed container.
This notice is necessary due to fluctuating water pressure associated with a repair of a water main break this afternoon. The City of Novi’s Department of Public Services is working to resolve the issue.
Total Coliform Bacteria Analysis testing has been initiated and this notice will remain in effect until results are in compliance with the EPA Drinking Water Standards. It is anticipated that this standard will be achieved within 48 hours. A boil water termination notice will be issued at that time.
If you have any questions, please contact the Department of Public Services at 248-735-5640 or 248-347-0454.
