Novi Police Investigating Fatal Car Accident
A Novi man died from his injuries in the crash Tuesday afternoon.

A 22-year-old Novi man died Tuesday afternoon, from injuries he received after his car was hit by a truck pulling a trailer at Novi and 12 Mile Roads.
According to a press release from the , the man was driving a 2003 Honda Accord north on Novi Road when his vehicle was hit by a large truck pulling a trailer containing a tractor/backhoe. The truck was traveling east on 12 Mile Road, the release said. Police received a 911 call about the accident at approximately 3 p.m.
The driver of the car received emergency treatment at the scene and was transported to Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills, where he later died of his injuries.

The intersection was closed for several hours Tuesday afternoon for police investigation.
The truck driver and passengers in the truck were not injured, and alcohol does not appear to be a factor, the release said.

"Preliminary indications do not suggest the driver of the truck was at fault in the accident," the release said.
The Novi Police Department is continuing to investigate the accident and asks anyone with information to call 248-348-7100.
