The rankings weigh test performance, graduation rates, and college readiness, with most top schools clustered in southeast Michigan and a few standouts elsewhere across the state. 
• Before joining Coney Island family biz, golfer is top dog in GAM event (detroitnews.com) — A 22-year-old Novi resident just captured the 105th Golf Association of Michigan Championship, winning a sudden-death playoff at Grosse Ile Golf & Country Club. As he prepares to graduate from Wayne State and join his family's Leo's Coney Island business, he's savoring his first GAM title after years of near-misses against some of the state's top collegiate golfers.
