Over 800 students attended the event, according to Lauren Norakowski, a staff member for the Novi Parks and Recreation Department.
The department puts on this large event to provide teenagers a fun and safe night out, Norakowski said.

The main event was the Battle of the Bands competition, which featured four local bands—The Friends of Novi, Yours Truly of Novi, Bus 21 of Brighton, and Ready Set Rendezvous of Livonia.
Students voted for their favorite band by sending in text messages of that bands number. Novi’s “Yours Truly” was announced the winner. The band features Singer Johnathan Weber, Bass Guitarist Adam Vuletich, Drummer David Baum, Guitarist Dylan Magliocco and Singer Franky Mastrantelo.

Each band performed twenty minute sets with a 10-minute break in between performances.
‘The Friends’, a Novi High School group, features Sevag Nadjarian, 16, David Harding, 17, Raj Chhaya, 16, Jack Takesian, 17, Harrison Halley, 16, and Jordan Blanchard, 17.
Other winners of the night included Novi High School students Lucas Widner and Jay Kim who received iPod Nanos and Omar Freij who won an iPad 2 from Scott Tylers Orthodontist, a local business and sponsor of the event.
